Eponymous furniture, lighting, textiles and decor store, Annabelle’s, has opened its doors on Ponsonby Road.
Annabelle’s has garnered a cult following since opening in 2016 with containers arriving every few months to its store nestled in the heart of Havelock North and now Annabelle’s has spread its wings, much to the delight of their loyal customer base in the Auckland region.
According to Annabelle’s owner, Annabelle Plowman, the store is her hand-picked curation of antiques, homewares, furniture and lighting sourced from China, Indonesia and India. “Buying trips have taken me all over Asia so I can bring the best finds home” and she works hard to maintain the natural and organic aesthetic with splashes of rich colour.
Not to grow complacent, Annabelle has recently launched her own line of clothing, designed at home and manufactured in India. “I’ve spent time in India choosing the best colours and fabrics to really bring my designs to life” and these can be found adorning the walls of the brand new Annabelle’s store.
Growing up as the daughter of Nicki Plowman, Annabelle accompanied her mother on buying trips around the globe, developing an eye for design and the skills to navigate the far flung corners of the globe. Chinese antiques, Indonesian décor and textiles from India keep the shop looking fresh and interesting. “Each container is different to the last,” Annabelle says, and customers can always expect surprises.
