Auckland’s Night Noodle Markets back bigger, better for longer

Celebrate the start of summer at the hawker-food Night Noodle Markets (NNMs) as they return to Auckland’s Victoria Park from 5pm Friday 1 December.

Aucklanders now have double the time to try out the 23 different food vendors.

The markets will be open at the weekends from 11.30am to 10pm and during weekdays opening at 5 and close at 10pm.

Event Operations Manager David Blackwell says, “This family-friendly event has quickly become one of Auckland’s largest and most popular food festivals. We were blown away with the number of applications after the success of last year’s event and had to whittle the list of stallholders down to 23.”

“Don’t be the only person in Auckland to miss out.”

“We’re also pleased to announce one of our event partners is Globelet, in partnership with them we are delivering an event that minimises waste to landfill, and gives our customers a greater customer experience. There will be no single use plastic cups - instead customers can purchase a limited edition event tumbler or wine glass (each $3) from the Info Booth. At the end of their night they can either take it home or return it for a partial refund at end of the night.

The markets will be offering a variety of stallholders, including two coming over from Australia. We will have a dedicated vegetarian restaurant and where possible vendors are encouraged to offer gluten free dishes.

Hoy Pinoy, a crowd favourite throughout NZ last year is returning from Australia. Based in Melbourne they will be returning to Auckland with their largest NZ set-up to date, serving up delicious Filipino BBQ and street food.

The growth of the desert category sees the introduction of Gelato Messina from Sydney. Gelato Messina makes off-the-chart deserts. They have been crowd favourites at all NNMs in Australia and were previously voted the best Gelato in Australia by the Good Food Guide.

One of the best things about this year’s markets is that they will be cashless - no need to carry cash and wait for change - all vendors will have EFTPOS terminals that will offer PayWave. So you just order, swipe or tap and eat.

Make a night of it for the family and wander around the corner and take in the Christmas lights in Auckland’s most festive road - Franklin Road.
