Animates stores are hosting free sessions for kids to learn all about rabbits, guinea pigs, rats and mice.
“To kick off our first school holiday session this year, children can learn all about their favourite small furry friends, from rabbits and guinea pigs to rats and mice,” says Zane Khan, Store Manager at Animates Grey Lynn.
The sessions are a great way to introduce children to the skills they need to be a nurturing pet owner, for example important life skills such as kindness and compassion towards animals. They’ll also learn about what makes rabbits, guinea pigs, rats and mice special, what to feed them and how to care for them.
“Smaller animals such as rabbits, guinea pigs, rats and mice are always a favourite with children. They may be small in size, but their big personalities make them the perfect pets!” says Khan.
“For each school holiday period throughout the year, we focus on learning about different types of animals. Our in-store experts are available to answer questions and give advice, and at the end of the session the children receive a certificate to put up on their wall at home,” Khan says.
