ADVERTISING RATES effective 01 November 2010 (all rates exclude gst)

Several people (not locals) have asked recently if they are able to advertise with us – given they are based outside Ponsonby. Being Ponsonby, we love strip shopping and we welcome most advertisers – apart from SHOPPING MALLS! – into the pages of Ponsonby News. New advertisers may be asked to prepay. Please supply a hard copy proof to show how your advertisement should proof.

DISCOUNTS

Discounts: for advertising campaigns of six issues or more, advertisers receive their advertisements in full colour, but at the black & white rate.

Please note we do NOT pay advertising agencies commission on these rates.

PRODUCTION

Because of the unreliability of e-mail new advertisers (or existing advertisers who supply new advertising copy) MUST supply a proof by post to PO Box 47-282, Ponsonby to show how their advertisement should print.

Advertising Copy/Artwork MUST be supplied as a 300 dpi PDF and will incur a $75+GST charge if it is not supplied as a PDF.

If you need us to produce your advertisement, we will need your logo, any photos and text to be emailed. We charge $70+GST per hour to design any size advertisement. If there are any minor alterations to any existing advertisements we charge $35+GST.

DEADLINES

Our booking and material deadline is always the 20th of the month prior to publication, so please be on time, as any adverting material arriving after deadline may be subject to a 20% surcharge.

We publish on the first friday of each month, excluding January.

EDITORIAL/ADVERTORIAL

NEW ADVERTISERS taking at least a quarter page advertisement in Ponsonby News receive extra space for 250 words of editorial to accompany their first insertion. This copy must be supplied as a word document. If you require our help to write your editorial, there is a $70 charge for this.

Subsequent editorial in Ponsonby News for existing advertisers is by request/and special arrangement and MUST be agreed in advance. When writing your copy you may find it helpful to remember Rudyard Kipling's excellent commonsense advice.

Ponsonby News – passionate about Ponsonby and its environs.

The greater Ponsonby area has changed hugely over the years and is now one of Auckland’s most sought after areas in which to live. It is part of the Western Bays ward covering the North Western segment of Auckland City. People are attracted by the area’s historic villas and bungalows along with the area’s cafes, bars, restaurants and some of the best shopping in Auckland. To keep residents informed the Ponsonby News has been supplying news and views since 1989.

Ponsonby people are reasonably youthful – their median age is 33 years.

ALCHEMY MEDIA LIMITED ADVERTISING
TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. Because of the unreliability of e-mail new advertisers (or existing advertisers who supply new advertising copy) MUST supply a proof by post, to P O Box 47-282, Ponsonby to show how their advertisement should print.
  2. All copy for advertisements is subject to the approval of Alchemy Media Ltd, who reserve the right to decline or cancel any advertisement, even if ordered and paid for without stating any reasons therefore, and/or make modifications necessary to any advertisement in order to maintain the publication’s standards. This includes placing the word ‘ADVERTISEMENT’ in advertising copy that simulates the editorial format.
  3. Advertisements must be cancelled in writing, and can only be cancelled up to 15 days prior to publication of the magazine. All cancellations will incur a 20% cancellation fee. This fee becomes payable immediately on receipt of the cancellation instruction.
  4. Every effort will be made to avoid errors, but no responsibility will be accepted for any mistakes that may arise in the course of publication of any advertisement. These mistakes are taken to include non-insertion, insertions other than those ordered and errors and omissions within the advertisement. Alchemy Media accepts no responsibility for slight variations in colour on advertisements.
  5. No responsibility will be accepted for loss or damage to copy, artwork or photographs supplied.
  6. Advertisers must ensure that the content of the advertisement complies with all legal requirements. The advertiser shall further indemnify Alchemy Media in respect of any claims, costs and expenses that may arise from anything contained within the advertiser’s advertisement and published on the advertiser’s behalf.
  7. No guarantee is given that advertisements will be placed in any specified position on any specified page, unless the appropriate surcharge has been contracted and written agreement has been entered into.
  8. It is the advertiser’s responsibility to supply suitable material to Alchemy Media within the deadline confirmed at booking. If material is not forthcoming, Alchemy Media reserves the right to repeat old material, or to charge the client for the advertisement without it appearing. Advertising material must be supplied in digital format, as stipulated by Alchemy Media. Alchemy Media accepts no responsibility for advertisements that are supplied without a colour proof.
  9. Alchemy Media requests advertisements to be supplied as a 300dpi PDF and any advertiser who is unable to supply material as a PDF agrees to pay the standard production/design charge for additional work required to make digital material press-ready, including converting open files, or resizing advertisements.
  10. Payment terms are 14 days from date of invoice. Interest at the maximum rate permissible by law may be levied on all overdue accounts.
  11. In the event of legal action being instituted for recovery of any amounts owing by the advertiser, the advertiser will be liable for all legal or collection costs.
  12. The person entering into this agreement on behalf of the advertiser warrants that they are duly authorised to act on behalf of the advertiser, and further bind themselves as surety and co-principal debtor for the due performance by the advertiser, and the due fulfillment and compliance of the terms and conditions of this agreement.
  13. The placing of an order or contract for insertion into the magazine, whether in writing or by verbal, e-mail or telephone instruction will be deemed an acceptance of each and all of the above conditions.
